Saskatoon has a very impressive riverfront, especially when viewed from the east bank  towards the downtown. The landmark is intended to be a new piece in that experience of Saskatoon.
The landmark also aligns with 2nd Avenue, a historicaly important corridor in the downtown area. With the development of the River Landing area, 2nd Avenue is now connected to the river bank. We wanted to create a landmark that was tall and visible so that it would help draw attention to this new connection.
